MLC Formal

So I have my school formal tomorrow night at the Sebel Hotel at Albert Park in the Grand Waldorf Ballroom - and the closer it gets to the actual day, the less excited I am. I have also had a few problems along the way - the most important being that I have said that I would go to pre-formal drinks at about 4 people's houses.... when clearly that is not really possible.
So, I have the dress. It's a beautiful charcoal satin with navy beading. I am in love.
I have some shoes, I've had my fake tan, my legs are waxed and the tickets have been organised.
I have not, however, organised a limo - which my friends and I forgot to do.
So probably we will have to take a maxi taxi or something :)

But I'm hoping it will be a good night, we'll see.

new Gossip Girl out soon!

I am so excited! The next episode of Gossip Girl is due out on the 21st of April... 3 weeks away!
I've been interested in what might be going on... read on for more information.

Gossip Girl

For those of you who don't know Gossip Girl - it's the story of the teenagers in Manhattan's Upper East Side, created by Josh Schwartz (The OC). The plot follows the lives of Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) who in the first episode returns from a year at boarding school to her family and friends... but is she welcome? Her BFF Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) isn't so happy to see her, after all she left for a year without even telling her, but to make things worse, before Serena left, she slept with Blair's boyfriend Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford). The story is very complicated but so entertaining, also starring Ed Westwick, Penn Badgley, Taylor Momsen and Kristin Bell as the anonymous blogger, "Gossip Girl", who records and reveals the scandals of the Upper East Side.
I love the clothes that Blake Lively and Leighton Meester wear.

It's funny because the show reminds me of my friends and I in more ways than one...
I have the long legs, the blonde hair and the confident, care-free manner of Serena; while my supposed BFF has the small body with the brown hair, and shops mostly at Alannah Hill.

The major difference is that I didn't sleep with her bf, but we still find plenty of things to fight about!

Anyway, the clothes are fantastic... the show is fantastic... if you haven't watched it, you are missing out. Look out for Chace Crawford and Ed Westwick. Yum.

For those of you who are fans of the show.... I've heard that one of the main male characters comes out... I wonder who it will be... Dan, Chuck, Nate... or maybe Eric?

I'm going to be watching in three weeks, are you?

Longchamp Le Pliage

After flicking through this week's Melbourne Weekly magazine, I have discovered a new love.
The Longchamp Pliage bag.

According to some other bloggers, the Pliage bag is commonly used as a school bag in the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

Unfortunately for me, my elite private school has a 'black backpack only' rule, but otherwise I would definitely be using one of these (as long as my laptop fit in...)

There is a limited edition collection of the bags arriving in stores this month, apparently.
I believe the regular Pliage bag costs around $195, while the Longchamp Stop by Jeremy Scott will set you back $450.

Have a look on their website www.longchamp.com and you can design your own Pliage bag.
Unfortunately they don't ship to Australia, but if you have friends or relatives in Europe or the United States, you can get them sent to your friend and then they can forward it on to you.

You can choose from a variety of sizes, colours, strap lengths, etc to make a bag that's original and suits your tastes, as well as have your initials embossed or embroidered on it and gift wrapped!

I'm definitely going to get one shipped over, or order one when I go to Europe in September.
I think that I will get it sent over before, though, because it looks like such a handy size for my carry on!

new blog

Well today I decided to make a blog, for no particular reason other than the fact that I have often read blogs belonging to other people who live in places like New York, LA etc, and I thought that there was just not enough information for me and my fellow Melbournians.

Also, it's nice to keep track of whats going on around town.

I think that once this blog develops more, it could be very useful for lots of people.
